FAQ

A Land Use Plan is a document intended to guide and shape future growth in a community. The State of North Carolina requires that all local governments have a reasonably maintained land use plan in order to retain authority to adopt and enforce zoning regulations. However, the content of the plan is relatively flexible.

The land use plan will be developed over the course of approximately one year, beginning in February of 2025.

The Land Use Plan will include an assessment of existing land use, environmental factors, population growth trends, demographic and economic data, physical geography, housing, and similar factors which impact future development. You can view the County's previous Land Use Plan here.

There are numerous ways that you can be involved in the planning process! ADD DETAILS HERE AFTER WEBSITE IS DRAFTED.
